Definition: The Afro (sometimes shortened to "fro") is a hairstyle for those with curly hair in which the hair grows out from the head in the shape of a ball. Afros may be very short or may extend to several times the size of the head. The afro may be worn by almost anyone with tight curls. Generally, the tighter the curl, the larger the afro may become. The style is best worn without any hairstyling product and can be styled using an afro pick.
