Definition: The hair must be neat, clean, and well groomed in appearance. The hair above the ears and at the nape of the neck must be tapered from the hairline upwards at least 3/4 inches. In some cases, the taper may be combined with a line at the neck if the texture of the hair makes a taper difficult to attain. Hair may be no longer than four inches and may not touch the ears, collar, or eyebrows. The length and bulk of the hair may not interfere with properly worn headgear and may not be styled in a manner that allows the hair to extend more than two inches from the scalp.

Sideburns may not extend past the middle of the ear and may not be flared or pointed at the bottom and must terminate with a clean shaved horizontal line.

Trendy or unkempt styles are not allowed and hair coloring, if used, much look natural and compliment the skin tone. Braided or plaited hair may not be worn while in uniform or on duty.

The face must be clean shaved, with the exception that a mustache may be worn. The mustache hair must shorter than 1/2 inch in length and the mustache may not cover the upper lip and may not extend past 1/2 inch beyond the corner of the mouth.
