Recession Ready Haircut, Bull Market Price

Thursday October 15, 2009

Just caught the season premiere of Million Dollar Listing on Bravo TV. During the episode, realtor Josh Flagg states that he wants his look to reflect this more conservative time, so he gets a recession ready buzzcut... at Jose Eber Salon in Beverly Hills! Too bad he didn't check out my article on how to choose either a barber or stylist because we might have been able to save him a few bucks!  I know Jose and his team are top notch pros, but a buzzcut is the perfect cut to be performed by a traditional barber or by buzzing at home.

His expensive buzz looked like crap….unfinished with no detail work. The neckline looked wolfen as soon as he left the chair. He should try an hispanic shop in LA that will fade his buzz into shape and look much more progressive.

I think the buzzcut style suits Josh very well, but I agree that the finishing could have been much more detailed. I think a proper buzzcut type style should have a clean outline around the ears and a crisp taper in the back — this is the type of tight detail work that a barber is especially well trained to perform.

Good tip on the Hispanic shop — when it comes to a tight fade, Hispanic and African American barbers really shine. I’ve been going to a multi-cultural shop for years and my fade is always flawless.
