Whether someone is bald by choice or they inherited male pattern baldness, there are now a plethora of grooming products on the market to help you keep a bald head looking slick and well-groomed. Of course, the first step in maintaining a great looking head is to use a proper shaving technique. But once you get past the initial step, the right products can really take your look to the next level.

Here are a few favorites:

HeadBlade
The company started with the HeadBlade Razor in the late nineties and has since introduced a full suite of products just for head shavers. The company has created a diverse line of products to fill every need for a bald guy. From every kind of blade to head creams to beanies, you can purchase products on their website and then learn how to shave and care for your bald head by viewing their educational videos.

Matte for Men
The company offers two products, Antioxidant Shave Gel, and Complete Head Care Lotion. The Antioxidant Shave Gel is a departure from the normal shaving creams in that it's a gel with no lathering agents. The product provides very good lubrication and is ideal for detailed shaving around facial hair. The Complete Head Care Lotion absorbs well, has a nice matte finish, and offers an SPF of 25, which should do the trick for most people. The lotion is a good all-around product to moisturize and protect the face and head.

Bee Bald
This Bee Bald Smooth feels really good on the skin. Although it's a bit heavy, it is not greasy and has very nice moisturizing properties. It's got an SPF factor of 30 for those that are sun-sensitive, freckle easily, or want to avoid the damaging effects of the sun.

Also, check out the company's Bee Bald Head and Face Wash. It does a fine job of cleansing the scalp and has a very pleasant fresh smell, which is always a bonus.

After You Shave and Moisturize, Learn to Protect

The scalp is even more susceptible to damage from the sun than other parts of the body. You may not be aware of it, but even when it's cloudy outside, the sun's damaging UV rays come through. In addition to a moisturizer with an SPF (or a separate sunscreen you prefer), try a great hat and put it to good use when the rays are strong.
