Bowl Cut

By Dave Alexander, About.com

Definition: A haircut common in the depression era because it is an easy cut to do at home. The hair is shaved close half way around the head and a line is cut around the head between the shaved part and the length on top. The result looks like a bowl was placed on the head and everything sticking out was shaved off.
